It occured to me (again) that music is such an important tool of expression for us in so many ways. But it is also a powerful tool to REMIND us of how powerful we are. Here are the words to a wonderful song called "Sweepin' The Clouds Away" written by Sam Coslow in 1930. I feel the message of the song - essentially that joy or sorrow is up to us to choose - is the wisdom of the ages. See what you think:
Don't go round mopin' hopin' happiness will come.
That's not the way. It doesn't pay.
It you want happiness, then help yourself to some.
Why don't you try to
Take life the way I do.
I don't care what's down below
Let it rain, let it snow.
I'll be up on a rainbow, sweepin' the clouds away.
Let' the whole world sigh or cry
I'll be high
in the sky
Up on top of a rainbow
sweepin' the clouds away.
I have learned life's lesson-
The fighters who always win
are those who can take it right on the chin
and grin
And so I shout to everyone
find your place in the sun
High on top of a rainbow
sweepin' the clouds away.
And to help you sweep the clouds away, please watch part 5 of Louise Hays presentation of "You Can Heal Your Life" and share your thoughts with us.
