Greetings to you all. I got to thinking this morning about how many, if not most, people on earth generally think about themselves -which is, not very highly at all. So many people continuously put themselves down in direct or indirect ways. They believe that they are not good enough, pretty enough, handsome enough, young enough, skinny enough, fast enough, talented enough - worthy enough to have and experience what they truly desire. Where do these ideas of self come from? I'll give you a hint. They don't come from within you - but from some perceived element without us. We embrace the myth that we are what others tell us we are and that we're not what others tell us we arenot. We watch tv and movies and read magazines and receive messages that are really, for all intents and purposes lies. Other people who embrace the lies then seek to vent their unhappiness onto others by treating them unkindly, insulting them etc. - and then those peopleaccept this behavior as truth and think they are to blame for the other persons unhappiness - and then they experience suffering and poor selfimage. But - you're not that. None of it - no matter what anyone or anything else tells you. You're perfect. You're simply not used to being aware of this and so this idea at first may make you laugh - o rat worse will make you more angry and frustrated. Here is one of themany lessons has shared with others:
I am always so pleased when I receive an inspiring email from great teacher Guy Finley. I always find them to be deep, sincere and wonderfully stated -- and of course inspiring. Here's what he has tosay about poor self-image based upon the opinions and behaviors ofothers:
Any form of measuring yourself bythe unkind action of another towards you is like looking into a badly fractured mirror... and then blaming yourself for the shattered image you see therein.

Hey everybody - I am so excited to greet you right now! Today is such an absolutely perfect and great day for the race! What race? Why, the HUMAN race! In fact every moment is a perfect and great moment for the RACE. That is a humorous line my grandmother used to say to us often and it's always stuck with me. What really makes a truly great day or great moment for us?
I think the main ingredient to any great day or great moment or occasion is CONSCIOUSNESS. The other I heard a quote from the famous poet Rumi explaining that truly we do not need to spend any time trying to heighten our CONSCIOUSNESS - what we really have to spend more time doing is trying to STOP ourselves from being conscious. I feel that is really very accurate. After all, "we" are that which is G-O-D, N-O-W and there's never a moment when we're not that which is Blessed, Perfect, Great and all the things we say we'd love to be or hope to be. But on earth we do tend to get caught up in the belief that life is a series of limits - money, love, freedom, peace, health, opportunities, joy, So we set about to hoard these things and amass them and keep them "safe" from being taken from us at any cost - including the cost of living in a CONSCIOUS way. By doing this we are, in fact, using all of our time and energy and resources to deny our TRUTH. But truth, no matter what we think or try to do is always here now. And, as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once so perfectly told us: "A lie can't stay a lie forever".
Starting today, this moment - join the race in a CONSCIOUS way. There's no need to rush nor keep pace with any other participant in the race nor is there any actual finish line. Focus on what brings you joy and the continual manifestation of all you desire - and in that way you will enrich the RACE and the RACE will enrich this earthly plane of existence in untold ways.

Greetings Fellow Earth Travellors,
How is your moment of now? Do you feel limited by...well, LIMITS today? Do you feel you are a victim of circumstance? Of other people? Of events? The weather? Natural disasters? Of Fate? Of God? Of Taxes? Of Death? If so I want to remind you that your believe in such things is a choice. Just as everything we all experience is a choice. You are only limited by your thoughts that you are limited. And you can change those thoughts and live as one who is not a vicitm right now or you can embrace the irroneous (and albeit prevalent) belief that we are ineffectual and finite beings. Which DO you choose in fact? Either way, it's up to you.

I hope you all had a good week. However you judge the week you had, good, bad, indifferent - I want to remind you you still have and will always have NOW and in the NOW we can choose any experience we desire. With Mercury recently in retrograde and now MARS in retrograde things were definitely a bit topsy turvy - and this can effect choices we make on many levels. I've been constantly reminding myself to focus and not get caught up in the drama that I've witnessed. Today for instance someone failed to hold the door as I was running to get on the elevator. Oh, he looked right at me and knew that I was trying to get on the elevator just as he was, but he chose to push the "close door button" instead. I managed to stick my arm in the door and get on the elevator - and addressed him with a curt reprimand not to close doors on people who are also trying to get on. This met with the hostile response "Don't tell me what to do". I quickly saw the potential drama that could explode in one nano second if I chose to press my case so I chose to be dismissive and say to myself "The guy is mentally unbalanced. Let it go". I could feel all of the absolutely hostile, dark, fearful energy swirling about this poor man and so it was very important for me to remind myself that I did not create this fear in him. He had chosen this path long long before the moment I got on the elevator. How easy it would have been to get caught up in the drama of the moment and feed off of that awful energy. In that one second I felt so polluted I was literally shuttering. I decided to get off of the elevator several floors before mine and walk the rest of the way. Amazing how powerful energy is. But just as we can be so easily pulled into someones sad vortex of fearful energy - it is even EASIER to get caught up in someones joyful energy. Which do we choose? CONSCIOUSNESS is not as difficult to attain as one might believe. It's simply a habit. Right now begin to form a new habit of remembering that we're all limitless. We can choose anything we desire right now - even during planet retrogrades!

No, I have not forgotten you nor KNOWsis! I'm still at it and in fact I'm all over the place (watch out, you never know where I'll turn up next)! It's been quite the busy moment for me as I work on and manifest some exciting projects with some very exciting people. One such project involves 2 tv shows for PBS which I am producing with pianist Paul Bisaccia whom I sing with. One show will celebrate the music of the great Chopin as 2010 is his 200th birthday! The other show will feature classic American pop favorites from Tin Pan Alley. I'll keep you posted as to how we're doing and when/where to see these shows!
I trust everyone's 2009 holiday season was wonderful and fulfilling. And never forget this: Every day is a holiday. And not only that, every MOMENT is a holiday. Think about that!
Now - I want to congratulate my pals Mike and Mark on their lovely spiritually-oriented site which is actually a brother site to KNOWsis. I hope you will all visit there and share and learn with us: www.equaltogod.com
Here to continue encouraging us in 2010 is Louise Hay and part 7 of her program "You Can Heal Your Life". As always, please share your thoughts and ideas with us here.

It occured to me (again) that music is such an important tool of expression for us in so many ways. But it is also a powerful tool to REMIND us of how powerful we are. Here are the words to a wonderful song called "Sweepin' The Clouds Away" written by Sam Coslow in 1930. I feel the message of the song - essentially that joy or sorrow is up to us to choose - is the wisdom of the ages. See what you think:
Don't go round mopin' hopin' happiness will come.
That's not the way. It doesn't pay.
It you want happiness, then help yourself to some.
Why don't you try to
Take life the way I do.
I don't care what's down below
Let it rain, let it snow.
I'll be up on a rainbow, sweepin' the clouds away.
Let' the whole world sigh or cry
I'll be high
in the sky
Up on top of a rainbow
sweepin' the clouds away.
I have learned life's lesson-
The fighters who always win
are those who can take it right on the chin
And so I shout to everyone
find your place in the sun
High on top of a rainbow
sweepin' the clouds away.
And to help you sweep the clouds away, please watch part 5 of Louise Hays presentation of "You Can Heal Your Life" and share your thoughts with us.

Sometimes we just feel really tired. With all the things to think about and all the obligations we are faced with constantly, we just want to "stop the world and get off" as it were. When choice is equated with "obligation" this may serve to make our heads spin and we become all too eager to relinquish our decision making to others - feeling that this is ultimately easier than perpetually carrying the burden of responsibility for ourselves. We often put this burden on teachers, our parents, our lovers, our friends, our doctors, our bosses, our government officials, law enforcers. But by doing that what we are saying is: I cannot choose for myself. I need others to do it for me. I'm not smart enough, articulate enough, patient enough, powerful enough. I cannot make clear decisions for myself involving health, safety, making money, how to live etc. so much better to give that responsibility to those who are "more powerful". However in truth - I feel no one is any more or less powerful than anyone else. The more we rely on some perceived outside force or entity for our wellbeing, our peace, our freedom, our security, our health etc. - the more we will spin in the rutt of not having and trying to get these things - and the subsequent anger, frustration and weariness. HINT: It's much easier to be fully responsible for your own self than not. Today, celebrate that you are a being of pure limitless power and that at each moment you can make any choice you desire. The more aware you are of this, the more your choices will serve you and those around you.

Does the idea of having limitless power and infinite choices seem scary to you in any way? If so, what is it about having no limits that is scary? Fear of running amok? Fear of having "too much freedom" and not knowing what to do with it all? Fear of becoming wanton and wasteful? Hedonistic? I think fear is really the only thing that can stop us from experiencing our limitlessness on earth. That is fear's only purpose - to afford us the experience of that which we are not - including the experiences of wantonness, hedonism and wastefulness. But the TRUTH never ceases to be the TRUTH - even when we are not focusing on it, does it? Today you are invited to see fear for what it is. Today focus on making choices based upon joy rather than fear. See what you experience!
And please watch part 3 of Louise Hay's wonderful presentation "You Can Heal Your Life" which is full of great thoughts and suggestions regarding making personal choices:

I truly feel that everything in our existences is the result of choice. From my experience I have found that nothing "just happens" to us - that in fact we cause everything to happen at each moment. Many may express aggitation at this statement: "But - why would anyone choose to be sick or impoverished or to be a victim of an disaster?" My answer to that is - you'd have to ask those who have experienced those things for your answer. It is is up to them. On the highest level of consciousness we know everything as we ARE everyting. But that does not mean we are aware of this. In fact we are largely UNaware of this. Therefore on earth most of our choices are made UNconsciously. Many may say: "But then you're argreeing with bigoted people who insist that things such as sexual preference are a choice". Yes, I guess I am agreeing with that. My question is - why would it be "bad" to choose to be gay or straight or bi-sexual? Why would it be "bad" to choose to be black or white or hispanic or Italian or short or tall male or female? As Shakespeare said -
"It is neither good nor bad - but thinking makes it so."
So, rather than spin in the rutt of regret or the fear of the future - why not choose this moment now to be aware that EVERYTHING is the result of our choices. Then we will begin the habit of making conscious choices that will manifest the experiences we truly desire.
